We do need to not only consider our children's history of being 'loved' (or in some cases, not)... but how we can give them the love that they need, in a way that speaks to their hearts.Stefaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15929186829748543826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812829745872292085.post-2877605278127414212010-12-21T09:54:48.433-08:002010-12-21T09:54:48.433-08:00Morning Adrian - good words - and I'd like to ...Morning Adrian - good words - and I'd like to think that most adoptive dad's 'get it' like that - but as a dad I'll be the first to admit that making the concious choice to do what ever might be necessary isn't always easy....and like most guys....I flub that one too!

Maybe that's why most of us guys are OK with the knowledge that whatever we've done it really was the wrong thing to do! ;) (And for readers that didn't understand that - well - it's a guy thing - and Adrian is laughing right now!)

Humor and jokes aside - it does take that effort - and while my answers to the serious questions you ask may turn out to be different - they will be different better!

Learning the love language of our adopted kids has been different for me....with the older three (all bio) we came up together - and shared many of the same experiences, but with our adopted kids - there are three different history's - three different sets of experiences - and three languages to learn - and that's been something of a challange for me (OK - a real and daily challange for me!!)

Oh yeah - and in my house - its ruby not diamond that makes the difference! ;)

thanks for the reminder -

aus and co.Aushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02740211277947404999noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812829745872292085.post-53864884818643942382010-12-21T09:36:17.463-08:002010-12-21T09:36:17.463-08:00My boys and I have had a similar conversation abou...My boys and I have had a similar conversation about that song! LOL

I think you are right - especially about the need to plan to be better. Becoming a good parent, father/mother, of any child, but perhaps especially one that has been through more than most, does require planning.

Thanks for reminding me.
Hartley
www.hartleysboys.comHartleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02463016780946119637noreply@blogger.com
