I really don't know how I would've handled it alone and feel so fortunate that my husband was able to be with me for the hospital stay.Maiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17149615417507090988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812829745872292085.post-11792696336892163672009-12-19T17:31:21.635-08:002009-12-19T17:31:21.635-08:00Our Isabelle had a very extreme reaction when she ...Our Isabelle had a very extreme reaction when she came out of her anesthesia... so was very mad and actually quite violent. I was completely unprepared for this, and SO wished I had not been alone at the hospital. It was a terrifying experience for her and equally upsetting for me because I couldn't do anything to help her!
I posted more about it here if anyone following the comments is going to have a child undergoing surgery sometime in the future:
http://www.myadoptionwebsite2.com/isabelle//home011406.htmStefaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15929186829748543826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812829745872292085.post-36454538651328239542009-12-19T17:25:46.539-08:002009-12-19T17:25:46.539-08:00Eileen, that's a great story, and I can SO pic...Eileen, that's a great story, and I can SO picture Q doing something similar. I hope that's the scenario at her next surgery, at any rate!Maiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17149615417507090988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812829745872292085.post-33376023824602677542009-12-19T15:28:43.981-08:002009-12-19T15:28:43.981-08:00How horrible! My daughter came out of anesthesia ...How horrible! My daughter came out of anesthesia very very quickly. The doctor had told us to go to the cafeteria to get something to eat and no sooner had we gotten our food than we were called over the PA system to return to surgery. I RAN down that hall, so sure something was horribly wrong. Instead, it was just that our daughter had woken up and she was MAD, screaming, "RED POPSICLE!" and "BALLOON!" I'd read her a book the day before about a little girl who went to the hospital and since this girl had gotten a red popsicle and ballon, my daughter was sure that those two items were part of the whole "hospital package".....and she wanted them IMMEDIATELY!Eileenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12149276733782997431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812829745872292085.post-18217853696440138992009-12-18T12:57:07.030-08:002009-12-18T12:57:07.030-08:00i read this story when you first posted it but rea...i read this story when you first posted it but read every word the second time around, and found myself shedding tears again.

they are the most brilliant, resilient kids, aren't they?kitchuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03907460384010952009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1812829745872292085.post-57380205144479580062009-12-16T19:28:34.867-08:002009-12-16T19:28:34.867-08:00Oh, Maia.
